Standard Vinyl Shutter Mounting Hardware

There are two ways to mount Mid-America standard exterior vinyl shutters. They can be mounted with Shutter-Loks or with shutter clips. The type of hardware you select depends primarily on the surface you are mounting to.

Patented Mid-America Shutter-Loks are designed to make installation easy. They can be mounted on virtually any surface with no anchors and the installation is permanent. Shutter-Loks are all-in-one mounting hardware that work as a combination anchor and decorative fastener. When installed, they look like buttons on your exterior shutters - a nice added touch. The fasteners are pre-molded to match the same color as the exterior shutters.

As a rule of thumb, it is best to use Shutter-Loks to install your vinyl shutters when the surface will require you to use anchors, such as with brick or faux stone. However, since they will work with any surface they can be used in virtually any installation.

Shutter Clip Shutter Installation

Shutter clips provide a more visually pleasing installation. They are mounted to the surface using screws or nails (not included) and hold the vinyl shutter by using a spring steel clip. Once the shutter is pressed into place, the installation is permanent. Nothing is visible on the surface of the vinyl shutters when they are mounted with shutter clips.

Shutter clips work best for exterior vinyl shutter installations on siding or wood as anchors will be required for some other surfaces.
